Outcome Preparation: Touching Up and Spacing
After we moved the walls of my installation into the exhibition space, it became clear that it needed touching up as marks had appeared on the travel over as expected. We just remedied this with another coat of paint.
We then moved the table and chairs in and then we tried moving the walls in and out. Though having a bigger space allows for people to walk around the piece, it does mean the space is lighter and will be a lot harder for the UV to shine through. Having a smaller space keeps the piece darker but doesn't allow for people to move around it as such. However there is space at each head of the table and I think this will be sufficient as people will be able to read the writing. Two entrances also allows the piece to be seen from either side which shows different perspectives.
Obviously this could all change when I get the light and the artwork in, but I think for now, it works fine. I just need to touch the chairs up and then I can get started.
