Experimentation: Imagery and Text on Plates
I then had a little brainwave of sorts and decided to try drawing on the plates and then writing around the image much like the table cloth. The only think is I'm unsure if it would work or if it would just look cluttered so I need to experiment with that element. I projected the image as before and drew it with the permanent UV marker before writing quotes from the surveys.
I actually really like it as it gives the plates more context and identifies roles within the family so it makes the aim of the piece clearer. However, I was going to do this for the table cloth and I'm not sure if it will be too samey or not. Again, I'd try and get a variety of people's handwriting as I believe that will give it an extra edge.
