Experimentation: Drawing Styles, Family Picture
I then tried drawing the image with my mum and her three brothers, as group family shots seems to be more of what people put on their walls. This image didn't work as well as I wanted in the ultraviolet so I didn't have much hope it would work out. Again, I found certain bits did, but others didn't which won't work as a piece as it needs to be of the same quality to create a cohesive and professional finish.
In a complete parallel to the last attempt this image, my mum and her youngest brother worked out whereas the older two didn't. I think I used more minimal broken up lines in the second half of the image (the left side) whereas I used more joined lines on the other side. The broken up lines definitely work better and the image is much clearer. Whereas with more lines, the image is unnecessarily complex and harder for the viewer to break down. Also my uncle in the centre of the image looks ridiculous because I haven't drawn his expression accurately. I definitely think the sketchy kind of drawing is better and I really need to remember to not get carried away and over do it as I have done previously.
